On October 15 a teenage gunman entered an Oregon elementary school, killed three children and a teacher, wounded two others, and was then fatally shot by the father of two school students who noticed the shooter entering the school and intercepted him before police arrived. The gunman’s mother had seen fit to give the boy the shotgun used in the attack as a birthday gift. His father was a serial criminal who had been jailed for attacking the gunman’s mother prior to the boy’s birth. The shooter entered a special needs classroom and began to shoot. It certainly seems like this kid needed help that he didn’t get.
